新西兰国会确认任命奥克兰资深大律师 Paul Collins 为新任司法行为专员（Judicial Conduct Commissioner），负责监督司法人员行为规范。

总检察长 Chris Bishop 表示，Paul Collins拥有近 40年法律执业经验，长期专注于法律行业监管和职业纪律事务，具备丰富的专业背景。

Collins过去30多年主要处理律师职业监管相关案件，参与过从律师标准委员会（Standards Committees）到最高法院层面的职业纪律程序。

他的法律职业生涯早期任职于奥克兰 Glaister Ennor，并于1999年至2011年担任该事务所高级诉讼合伙人。之后，他转为独立大律师，并长期驻扎奥克兰Shortland Chambers。

Paul Collins将在总督签发任命文件后，于未来数周正式上任。

他将接替现任司法行为专员 Alan Ritchie。Ritchie自2015年起担任该职务，曾任新西兰律师协会（New Zealand Law Society）首席执行官和执行董事，同时也是假释委员会（Parole Board）成员召集人。

司法行为专员负责接收和评估公众对法官行为的投诉，并在必要情况下向司法调查委员会（Judicial Conduct Panel）提出建议，是维护司法公信力的重要制度安排。

Auckland based barrister Paul Collins has been confirmed by parliament as the new Judicial Conduct Commissioner, Attorney-General Chris Bishop announced today.

Mr Collins has almost 40 years of experience in legal practice and for most of the past 30 years has specialised in law and practice relating to the regulation of the legal profession.

This work has included professional disciplinary matters at all levels from Standards Committees to Supreme Court appearances. 

His early career was with Glaister Ennor in Auckland and he was the senior litigation partner at that firm from 1999 till 2011 before moving to the independent bar. He has been based at Shortland Chambers in Auckland since that time.

Mr Collins will take up his appointment in the next few weeks following the issue of a warrant by the Governor-General. 

He replaces retiring Commissioner Alan Ritchie. Mr Ritchie is a former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the New Zealand Law Society and a Parole Board Panel Convenor who has been the Judicial Conduct Commissioner since 2015.
