金秋九月，丹桂飘香；华灯璀璨，盛世同庆。在中华民族传统佳节中秋节与中华人民共和国成立77周年即将到来之际，新西兰中国和平统一促进会谨向长期以来关心、支持和平统一事业和中新友好交流的社会各界人士，向旅居新西兰的广大华人华侨、港澳台同胞，致以崇高的敬意和诚挚的节日问候！

中秋月圆，寄托着中华儿女对团圆美满的共同期盼；盛世华诞，承载着海内外中华儿女对祖国的深厚情感。无论我们身处何方、来自何地，中华民族数千年的历史文化始终是我们共同的精神纽带，家国情怀始终是海内外中华儿女共同的情感寄托。

长期以来，广大新西兰华人华侨、港澳台同胞秉持中华民族勤劳、坚韧、守望相助的优良传统，积极融入当地社会，努力拼搏、建功立业，在经济、文化、教育、科技、社区建设等各领域发挥积极作用，为促进新西兰社会发展、推动中新民间友好交流作出了积极贡献。

我们坚信，中华儿女无论走到哪里，都会珍视共同的文化根脉，传承中华优秀传统文化，弘扬和平、友善、包容、合作的精神，求大同存小异。让我们更加珍惜同胞情谊，增进彼此理解，凝聚团结力量，积极促进中新两国人民之间的友好往来与相互了解，为构建更加和谐、友善的多元文化社会贡献力量。

海上生明月，天涯共此时。纵然山海相隔，一轮明月依然连接着故土与游子，寄托着中华儿女对美好生活的共同向往。

值此中秋、国庆双节之际，让我们共赏明月、共叙乡情、共庆华诞，携手珍惜和平、维护团结、促进交流，共同祝愿：

When Full the Moon Doth Shine, Our Hearts Are One;
With Joy We Hail the Glory of This Auspicious Age

— A Joint Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Message from the Peaceful Reunification of China Association Inc. New Zealand（PRCAINZ） to Chinese New Zealanders, Overseas Chinese, and Compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan

As the golden autumn of September arrives, with the fragrance of osmanthus in the air and the Mid-Autumn moon shining brightly, the National Day of the People’s Republic of China is also approaching.

On the occasion of the forthcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, PRCAINZ extends its highest respect and warmest festive greetings to all those across New Zealand who have long cared for and supported the cause of peaceful reunification and people-to-people friendship and exchanges between New Zealand and China. We also extend our sincere greetings to the many Chinese New Zealanders, overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who call New Zealand home.

The full moon of Mid-Autumn symbolises the shared hope of Chinese people everywhere for reunion, harmony and a happy life. The celebration of the National Day likewise carries the deep affection and heartfelt wishes of Chinese people at home and abroad for their motherland.

Wherever we may live, and wherever we may have come from, the history and culture of the Chinese civilisation, stretching back thousands of years, remain an enduring bond that connects Chinese people around the world. Our attachment to family, homeland and country continues to be a shared source of affection and belonging among Chinese communities both in China and overseas.

For many years, Chinese New Zealanders, overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have upheld the traditional virtues of diligence, resilience and mutual support. They have actively contributed to New Zealand society, worked hard, built businesses and careers, and made valuable contributions across a wide range of fields, including the economy, culture, education, science and technology, and community development.

Through their efforts and contributions, they have played a constructive role in the development of New Zealand society and in strengthening people-to-people friendship, mutual understanding and exchanges between New Zealand and China.

We firmly believe that, wherever they may be in the world, Chinese people should cherish their shared cultural heritage, preserve and pass on the finest traditions of Chinese culture, and uphold the values of peace, friendship, inclusiveness and co-operation.

Let us cherish the bonds that unite us as fellow members of the Chinese community, deepen mutual understanding, strengthen our spirit of solidarity, and continue to promote friendly exchanges and mutual understanding between the peoples of New Zealand

and China. Together, we can contribute to building an even more harmonious, welcoming and inclusive multicultural society.

Though separated by mountains and seas, the full Mid-Autumn moon continues to connect those at home with those living far from their ancestral homeland. It carries with it the shared hopes and aspirations of Chinese people everywhere for a better and more fulfilling life.

As we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day, let us admire the moon together, share our memories and affection for our homeland, and celebrate this special occasion together. Let us cherish peace, uphold unity and promote friendship and exchanges, and join together in extending our heartfelt wishes:

May China flourish, and her people prosper; may peace attend her shores, and joy her homes.

May New Zealand and China, hand in hand, preserve a friendship steadfast through the years; and may the bonds between our peoples grow in fellowship, in trust, and understanding.

May all our Chinese brethren throughout New Zealand—those born beneath the Middle Kingdom’s skies, and those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan— find fortune in their labours, peace within their homes, and health and happiness throughout their days.

And when the moon, full-orbed, doth grace the heavens, may hearts long parted find themselves made one; for though the seas and distant lands divide us,
our ancient heritage shall bind us still, and in our hearts the spirit of China lives.
