{"id":13806,"date":"2026-11-02T15:03:28","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T03:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nzchinesedailynews.co.nz\/?p=13806"},"modified":"2026-11-02T15:03:28","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T03:03:28","slug":"green-light-for-rotorua-business-park-intersection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nzchinesedailynews.co.nz\/?p=13806","title":{"rendered":"Green light for Rotorua business park intersection"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A $3.46 million grant from the Regional Infrastructure Fund will provide safer access to Rotorua\u2019s Eastgate Business Park from State Highway 30, Regional Development Minister Shane Jones and Transport Minister Chris Bishop say.<\/p>\n<p>A four-way intersection controlled by traffic lights at the junction of SH30 and Wahanga-A-Rangi Crescent will improve safety on the busy highway, support development at the business park and provide for future access to the planned Rotorua Airport Business Park nearby.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving safe, suitable access to Eastgate will support development at the site and future-proof the wider area for more growth,\u201d Mr Jones says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment reflects the Regional Infrastructure Fund\u2019s focus on backing practical regional infrastructure that unlocks economic opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Bishop says building one road intersection to serve both business parks is the most practical approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will serve existing businesses while providing for the airport business park as it develops,\u201d Mr Bishop says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCreating future-proofed transport links now means less work as the area gets busier with industry and more vehicle movements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project will be managed by Rotorua Lakes Council. Construction is expected to begin in the next few months, subject to final confirmation and contractors being secured.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A $3.46 million
